Looking Towards Annual Conference

When I first began in the ministry, one of my mentor pastors told me how big of an ordeal going to Annual Conference was. Back when he started in the ministry, everyone lived in a furnished parsonage, so you would leave for Annual Conference not knowing if you were coming back. He said that every year you would pack up your personal belongings and clothes and head to wherever Annual Conference was being held. Then, when the appointments were read, you found out if you were coming back or if you were going to another church. Luckily, it isn’t like that anymore. Even though it isn’t as big of an ordeal as in the past, I still look forward to … Read More

We have made it through the busy Easter season as a church family. We had wonderful worship services in Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. We also had a very successful Easter Egg Hunt, and I don’t think that the weather could have been any better. It was an absolutely beautiful day! I do want to thank everyone who helped out to make everything go off without a hitch. I know that it takes a lot of time and energy to make everything happen. When it comes to second and third chances, the Bible is full of them. We will look at a few of the people whom God gave another chance to, including the woman at the well, Peter, and Paul just to name a few. I hope that you will join us … Read More

The Mind Reading Dog When I was just starting out in ministry, one of my mentors had the most remarkable dog. His name was Winston. He was a purebred King Charles Cavalier. They received Winston when he was retired from an award winning career as a show dog. His training was impeccable. My mentor could “crate” and Winston would stop whatever he was doing and go into his create. He was also just so calm and easy going. He was a great dog, but there was one thing about him that most people didn’t know. Late one night after being invited over for dinner, my mentor let me know that Winston was a mind reading dog. I of course didn’t … Read More
